I'm a single mother expecting my second child. No, I'm not dating anyone or having a boyfriend. I'm legally separated from my child's father, but I consider myself single.

In my country, successful families don't get divorced. Either the husband has a mistress while living with his wife, or they simply separate and live separate lives. He smiled and asked me in broken Spanish where the road led. I chuckled because he knew I was a foreigner and needed help. I answered his question in English and asked if he'd like to ride with me. I'll never forget his appreciative smile.

We rode side by side for about 30 minutes. I learned that he and his wife had rented an apartment in a nearby town. He was retiring in two years, and they were exploring different possibilities for moving after retirement. He owned horses as a teenager and learned to ride by watching his equestrian heroes in movies. His wife liked to relax by the pool while he sought out more exciting adventures. I must admit, the movement of my clitoris in the saddle and the interesting stranger beside me really turned me on.

When we reached the gate, I got out of the saddle to open it. When he entered, I closed it behind us. I suggested we ride single file because I know this trail very well, and his horse would follow mine. He was mounted on a magnificent Paso Fino. Knowing they had firm footing, I felt confident they could both navigate the rough terrain. As we rode, my mind wandered to those times when I wanted to express my freedom and rode naked on this trail. Now, I have this guy behind me, and what would happen if I were naked?

Deep in the woods, we arrived at my favorite place on earth. It's a grassy outcrop overlooking the small town below and miles and miles of mountains. I unrolled a blanket from my saddle and took a bottle of wine from my saddlebags. As I sat beside him, we spoke almost in a whisper. I couldn't help but be mesmerized by his bright green eyes. As the sun set over the distant mountaintop, I leaned in and kissed him, expressing how grateful I was to share this day with him. Needless to say, it didn't end there.

It was dusk when we parted at the crossroads where we met, and it was dark when I got home. My mother was there to greet me, along with the children. I never learned the stranger's name, and we both knew we would never meet again. I don't regret anything because everything in life has a meaning and a purpose.
