Sarah Young was born in Sidcup, in the London borough of Bexley, south-east London, and grew up in Hampshire, in the south of England, alongside her younger brother. From a young age, her mother worked as a seamstress and her father was a structural engineer. Despite her dream being to become a dentist, her childhood was marked by shyness and introversion, which led her to reject any attempt to have her photograph taken.

At the age of 10, she began to develop her body and, at school, she was teased for it. This made her feel uncomfortable with her figure, so she chose to wear large sweaters and baggy clothes to hide herself. Her first sexual experience came at the age of 13 during a family holiday in Yugoslavia, where she had an encounter with a local 22-year-old boy that was not very pleasurable. However, a year later, she discovered that she enjoyed having sex, especially in public places, which gave her an extra touch of excitement. In fact, she was caught on several occasions, including by the police, who once let her off with a warning.
