I started webcamming in 2011 because I liked the excitement involved. Growing up in a small town, I'd never ventured out of my comfort zone and wanted to try something new. I didn't realize I could turn webcamming into a career until I spoke with another woman who had extensive experience with paid sites. She told me there was no reason not to look into paid sites and gave me a list of ones I could search.
My new puppy, Riley, had just broken his leg and needed surgery that would cost over $3,000. I want to be clear: I'd never had that kind of money in my entire life. I was living paycheck to paycheck, and my family had always lived the same way. The vet told me if I couldn't come up with the money, the cheapest alternative would be to amputate the leg.
Heartbroken and determined not to let that happen, I went live on a webcam site called MFC and told my story to fewer than 20 people watching. Within a few days, I had enough money to get Riley the help she needed. Over the next month, I continued working hard to pay her vet bills. She made a full recovery and remains my best friend to this day.
At first, I didn't make much. I was happy to make $30 and finally be able to put gas in my car. I was going to college, working shifts at four different jobs, and stuck in a bad relationship. At the time, I couldn't imagine what my life would become.
Over time, I started getting more viewers during my shows, and that allowed me to earn more tips. At MFC, I averaged 40 to 60 people when I was just chatting and around 100 to 200 people during the explicit shows. I specifically remember my excitement on one particular weekend when I made $900 in three days. It was right before Christmas, and I was able to buy my mom a new vacuum cleaner that she couldn't afford.
At that time, my relationship started to deteriorate. We thought the solution was to leave a small town. Maybe if we had a different life in the city, things would be better. Afraid to tell my family and leave behind everything I'd known, I packed a small SUV and waited until two days before leaving to tell my parents I was leaving. It was a very bittersweet moment in my life. I regret a million times the way I handled it, but I would never have known a more beautiful and free life if I hadn't left.
This is also the moment I decided to confess my secret career to them. Surprisingly, my family took the news quite well and has supported me ever since. They're proud that I'm running my own successful business. I take pride in supporting them. They say money can't buy happiness, but I can certainly think of plenty of problems it solves. I'll make sure they don't have to worry about surviving anymore.
In 2012, I moved to Texas and started working on a new website called Chaturbate. It had launched the year before, and there were barely any models online. I consider myself lucky to have discovered it in its early days. With over 1,000 people watching my first show, I quickly left MFC behind.
Every year, I was doing better than before. I learned valuable business skills and vowed to stay humble. My increasing income, with the help of my closest friends, finally allowed me to leave my toxic relationship and move to California. I lived life to the fullest until everything came to a screeching halt.
In 2018, I suffered a spinal cord injury in a terrible accident where I fell 15 feet off a bridge and was nearly paralyzed. Fortunately, I had spent years sourcing reliable sources of passive income that would help me recover. My fans were by my side, cheering me on and graciously offering any help they could.
With the help of a lumbar brace, it didn't take long for me to get back on my feet—literally. I was determined to get back on track to make my dreams come true. At that moment, I began to ask myself, "What exactly are my dreams?" I dedicated the summer of 2019 to traveling and exploring myself. During that time, I came to the conclusion that I would return to Texas to buy my first home.
I owe it all to my loyal fans. Thank you for supporting me and believing in me so I can improve my life and the lives of my loved ones.
